The trek from Naran to the lake takes about 4 to 6 hours, only for those who are fit and having stamina, enough for climbing up to 3,000 feet, of eight kilometers lengthy trekking trail. The lake is accessible by a 14 kilometres road from Naran through Mansehra/Balakot/Kaghan. The lake is named after Prince Saiful Muluk, who fell in love with a fairy from the mountains. No trip to Kaghan Valley is complete without a visit to the legendary Lake Saif-ul-Malook. The whole path fills with captivating beauty. The journey takes about an hour, on a shingled road, starting from Naran. Jeeps are easily available in Naran Bazar. Saif-ul-Malook Lake is accessible through 4×4 vehicles via Naran Valley. The lake is open for visitors from June to September, 10 kilometers from Naran Village. Lake Saif-ul-Malook is a famous tourist destination. The lake is rich in eco-diversity and holds a number of marine species and is a home of the famous fish, Trout. Its water is clear, slightly in green tone with snow-capped peaks in the background. This is an oval shaped lake, spreads over a mile. Saif-ul-Malook is one of the highest lakes in Pakistan. It is situated at an altitude of 3,224 metres (10,578 feet) above sea level. Saif-ul-Malook Lake is located at the northern end of the Kaghan Valley near in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan.
